Pinterest Announces Unlimited Secret Boards
Pinterest today announced everyone can now create an unlimited number of secret boards. For those who don’t know, secret boards let you keep track of holiday gifts, plan a special event, or work on a project you aren’t yet ready to share with the rest of the world.
Previously, a user could only have six secret boards. But users loved the feature so much that the company finally gave in to the frequent requests for an unlimited option. “While people are increasingly using secret boards to pin, they’re also continuing to be active with public boards,” a Pinterest spokesperson told Mashable.
First unveiled in 2012, Pinterest secret boards allowed a user to have three secret boards in order to hide their secret events or surprise parties from friends and family. In November, Pinterest increased the number of secret boards to six. In a message on its official blog the company stated, “With unlimited secret boards, there’s no limit to the number of ways for you to plan, contemplate, practice and explore all the things you want to do. Go ahead, keep it a secret.”
This update is the latest in a series of new features the company has announced in recent weeks, such as supporting GIFs and introducing its Place Pins feature to the iPad.
